January 7th 2014

Another year passes by and time to make some subtle changes to the site. These pages used to by updated monthly due to the sheer numbers of letter and articles (as the pages were so big it look longer to download in the modem day). As the forum grew in popularity, people could post their own articles and this side of the site dropped in attendance to point where I only updated pages by season. Now I find myself thinking again about how to maintain this page, so I'm moving to annually.

Of course there is the argument as to whether we need a static site as this anymore, but I think it's still a useful resource for photos and research material, as the forum doesn't archive old articles.

So what's new on the site. Well this time of year is tender time for the Annual Rideout (AR2014). I used the same approach as last year and once again we only got one bid, so choosing was easy. Thanks to Bibio, Andrewsmith and littleoldman2 for taking this on. I think this year is a bit further north than we've been before, but that's fine, the best roads are not all down south. I'll put a link on the menu here to the forum threads.

For myself. Biking has taken a bit of a back seat as winter has drawn in. The VFR is still a novelty to ride and completely different to the SV. I can imagine it's a bit like a Bentley Continental by comparision to the SV, big, heavy, slower to react, but deceptivily fast and very comfortable.

Still no new on a replacement for the SV, but Suzuki are showing some interesting concepts such as the turbo charged parallel twin called the Recursion shown here. http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-news-new-bikes/turbo-charged-suzuki-concept/23873.html Could this be the SV replacement?

This article about supertwin racing may interest you too. http://www.suzukibulletin.co.uk/2013/05/13/racing-an-sv650-and-building-a-supertwin/

Here's looking forward to spring and some decent weather. Be safe.
