Akrapovic SV650S 2001 Carbon Race Low Level Not For Road Use Single Can Full System Excellent Fitted by dealer, but looks straight forward Via dealer - Excellent Man, its the nuts... Loud but not too loud... Not measured but definitely £500 plus Looks great, quality is top notch and not many of them on SV's Rating 10/10 Performance Parts Ltd reply on behalf of Akrapovic (Official UK Distributor); Your two owners seem extremely happy with the results of their Akropovic full systems, which is exactly what we would expect. I was pleased to see that PDQ offered your customer the correct information - it's not necessary to re-jet the carbs with this system, it works just fine on standard settings. The system retails for £578 inc vat for either the 99>02 model or the new 03 variant. Not too bad for a stainless steel system that produces 5bhp extra and saves 5kg in weight.
On the whole we are very pleased with the results of the feedback from your survey. Although Akrapovic products are not the cheapest on the market, the price reflects quality and performance.

SV650S 1999 Sport Production Full Race Low Level (upswept) Not For Road Use Single Can Full System Splendid, very high quality Carbon fibre / titanium (the system is even held together with springs! wow! no nasty clamps...) Recently needed to exchange it for the OE 'zorst for the MOT and it was a piece of piss (removal and refitting!) Dealers seem fine, no dealings with Akrapovic directly. Fabulous, deep/ boomin/ similar(ish, but better  ) to rictus' Renegade ;o) ! lovely pops on the overrun... Yup, genuine 71.4bhp at the wheel (on PDQ's Dyno) revs build quicker etc, etc. £570 (or FREE  on the insurance!) get your bike set up right after fitting... FYI - PDQ mentioned that fitting a DynoJet kit to an SV with a full system (like mine) will cost £200 and offer no discernible difference!) so unless you got money to burn...
Art SV650S 2001 Stainless steel oval High Level Not For Road Use Single Can Slip-on Excellent Just need nerves of steel to cut the old can off  Very good Very loud (too loud at 5.00 am  ) Got rid of flat spot I had at 5000 rpm £160 (with high level link pipe) Sounds like a v-twin should The article makes interesting reading with your owners being pretty fair in pointing out each companies strengths and weakness's. I am pleased that each of our customers were broadly pleased with their purchase although it is always difficult to please everyone with the noise level. Too loud for some, too quiet for others and just right for the rest.
What doesn't appear to be an issue with our silencers is that they give tremendous power gains for the money as the guys which dynoed their bikes show. Check out how our relatively inexpensive ART silencer gives more power than the very expensive Akrapovic system.
Unlike most expensive silencers we do not choose to spend hundreds of thousands of pounds fitting our silencers to World Superbikes. We simply make silencers which are every bit as good in terms of performance and manufacture and pass the savings onto the customer. So far this appears to have been a successful approach for us and one which intend carrying on with for the foreseable future.

SV1000S 2003 Stainless Oval (intended for TLS/R). Low Level Not For Road Use Twin Cans Bolt-On Cans Fine (bought these because they are well priced and I've had good experience with Art stuff previously). As they are meant for TL's the brackets must be fiddled a bit but no real probs, no instructions supplied, but they're not needed. Never enquired. Niiice, not overly loud. Slightly better throttle response. 199 Bought from Busters, delivery was very speedy, (next day).  Art say you must send them back every six months for "servicing" (at £25 a time, each), or forget the warranty. Not going to happen.

Good bunch of blokes Awesome Maybe but not measured 100 A bargain as cans go. Now has a big dent in the side after my off but it'll be cheap to replace. We at Carbon Can Co pride ourselves on the quality and the sound of our cans. We make cans for the whole Suzuki range including the new Sv range of bikes. We also include in the fitting kits for SV650 a rejoining sleeve to re-fit the standard exhaust. There is no need top re-jet or re map with our cans however the K3 Sv650 with a power commander fitted ( which can also be purchased from us) does improve performance in excess of 5bhp. We have since the launch of the sv650 in 1998/99  consistenly continued to get the best performance from the machine.
To optain the results we tryed and tested every exhaust system that became avaliable for the bike from slip/ons up to the full works titanium yoshimura from japan(not america), and the M4 out performend them all to date (and we are still looking)
The system is manufactured in 304 grade stainless steel for the front pipes which have a unique route, with the link pipes avaliable in either the same stainless or titanium, both systems can be purchased as high level of standard height. The can finish "can" be in either polished alloy/carbon, or titanium .
Prices start from £499.00 up to £599.00 inc vat
With the advent of the 03 models M4 has now launched a range of slip/on pipes for customers who perhaps are not looking for max power but a good looking can and sound, these new pipes are avaliable in stand height ,high level, and the new high sport, prices start from £195.00 inc vat.

It backfires and grumbles frequently. Delicious sound. Engine splutters at high RPMS (10,000+ ish) with power loss. Probably due to incorrect back pressure, as expected from just a pipe...

But there seems to be a trend towards the New Revolution silencer, which is road legal but has a removable baffle. One of your respondents has one fitted and certainly reflects the common feedback we hear. '' It's great with the baffle in and even better with it out ! " Quality and finish is high and there is a high or low level option, so in most cases it should fit everyone's requirements. One thing your respondent didn't mention was that a re-connection sleeve is supplied that allows the original silencer to be re-connected without looking unsightly.

SV650S 1999 Oval Stainless Steel Low Level Not For Road Use Twin Cans Slip-on Great, end caps need a little work but otherwise, great. Fitted by Renegade, so easy peasy! Fantastic, turn up at 11am without prior warning, he took it in straight away and fitted it along with the air kit by three and let me go in the Dyno room, quality. When I crashed, turned up at 4pm on a Saturday afternoon when they are just about to go home unannounced again, fixed it straight away without trying to rip me off for a whole new can. Thanks Jorge. Not as loud as some but a lower deeper sound. Air kit was fitted at same time so couldn't tell you, overall bike is far more usable 500 Get with the Air kit to complete the package, works a treat.
SV650 2001 Twin carbon underseat Underseat Not For Road Use Twin Cans Semi-Full Like a finely tuned harp Very easy - Jorge did it for me (took 8 hours though) Ace - he likes to talk does that Jorge  Like a beast unleashed. About 95 on fitting, probably nearer 98 now (needs a repack) Who cares when it sounds that good? I'm doing 100mph at a standstill !!! Just over a grand fitted, including jack up plates and undertray. The coolest bike ever! I get comments from everyone about the exhausts.
SV650S 2001 Oval, Titanium High Level Not For Road Use Twin Cans Slip-on Excellent Fitted by dealer (insurance job) Good people, good food, good wine. 'Nuff said. Deep and glorious. Loud enough to draw admiring glances without getting me nicked (yet!). Not dyno'd, but midrange feels better. Easier wheelies. About £600 (insurance company paid Prevented sidestand from returning properly, causing a few scary stand/Tarmac clashes. Problem resolved by Jorge and big hammer!
SV650S 2000 carbon can High Level Not For Road Use Single Can Slip-on spot on easy, but it looks at untidy (clamps) second-hand oh yeah baby!!!! dunno, smoother though Second hand £150 Can rocks but compared to my old remus the fitting kit is a little untidy, the Remus had no brackets as all clamping was built into the link pipe. The renegade has two clamps and i think it looks a bit DIY.

Two Brothers SV650S 2000 Oval Stainless Steel Racing Low Level Not For Road Use (NZ Race Can Legal) Single Can Slip-on Well Finished, good quality Came with Bike Unknown The absolute Horn, lots of people reckon it sounds like a Ducati, and lots of people look when you go by, wonderful, need I say more Needs to be rejetted, coughs on blipped throttle, surges a little, though none of this is too bad, still rideable. I have gone the Dynojet, K&N airfilter to tidy things up, will be able to tell you the results next week when it is all fitted. We have an oval Race Can (Not for road use) available for the SVS 2000. This is a single slip on can available in Stainless steel, Aluminium, carbon Fibre and titanium. The can is a low level fitting.

Wolf SV650S 2002 Removable Baffle Low Level Road Legal with Removable Baffle Single Can Slip-on good quality mechanically, but wolf badge is starting to come off after three months easy to fit, but no instructions 1st one came dented, replaced immediately very good with baffle fitted but not much louder without difficult to say. k&n filter fitted as well. mid range seems to be better. fuel consumption much better 186 None The only comments I would make are to let your readers know that we offer both high and low level slip ons in both race and road legal - obviously the review you have is only for the low level race. In terms of performance your reviewer noted he could not comment as he had done other mods at the same time. Just for your records we have tested these on the dyno at 4 bhp gain with no other mods.

They include pictures also, making it easy even for the mechanically challenged. did not have any reason to contact cust. service. Sounds amazing ! Makes the bike sound like a much bigger bike Not a huge difference. US $362 including shipping I would highly recommend this exhaust to anyone looking for an aftermarket exhaust.
